I gave it a one star because 0 is not available. The owner is not a nice guy at all, very rude. My car caught fire there so I used the fire extinguisher to put it out. The guy was very mad that I did that. He gave no car about me or my car and only cared about me replacing the fire extinguisher. He got aggressive and started swearing at me and calling names. He even threw out a racial slur. He then proceeded to call the cops and said I damaged his property. The cops were very nice and understanding of my situation. Once they left he came out and aggressively yelling at me. Said I was not allowed to come back and be a customer. Not to mention the store stinks and there was uncovered containers of food all over the place. I highly recommend not going here. Disgusting
Theyre either watering down their windshield washer fluid at the pumps, or havent switched to winter washer fluid. Either way. Its been cold for long enough, that that shouldnt be a frozen block of ice
I strongly recommend not going here. Worst decision I’ve made.The owner has always been slightly unprofessional which I thought nothing of, until one day it all got worse. I hadn’t gone there for probably 6 months by this point and decided to stop in for gas. I pumped around $80 of premium and headed inside. I realized I had forgotten my credit card at home and made a phone call to a family member asking to read off my card details so they could be inputted. I also had debit, but I like to pay with credit and pay it off, you know. I go to the counter and ask if he can take credit over the phone. His English has never been great but he didn’t understand, so I repeated myself again. He asked again and I then again repeated myself. He then seemed to get extremely upset out of nowhere raising his voice. One of the first sentences that came out of his mouth (keep in mind this is just after I said if the card over phone won’t work I have debit) was “you’re a thief, you’re stealing” “I’m calling the police”. He then proceeded to call and say that I was stealing, and so being the good citizen I am of course, I waited for police. He would not let me leave the store and kept demanding me to do things like sit over near the ice cream freezer on the floor which I refused. I stood waiting for 45 minutes, and I should add this whole time he was spewing out slurs and calling me names (the entire time he was talking his tone was extremely aggressive and voice was loud). The wonderful officer arrived, entered, asked what was wrong and the owner explained I was stealing and had asked to use a card over the phone (which as many people know most new machines can input card numbers and take payment). The officer then asked me and I explained everything I previously said above, she then asked if I could pay debit since I mentioned it and I said yes. The owner looked stunned possibly realizing he had just wasted valuable police time which the officer stated to him seeing as how they’re have been zero accounts of me ever stealing especially from this store. I paid and walked out with the officer. On a last note I will say, if there have been issues with stealing there they should’ve changed it to pre pay only, which is what the officer also told him. This is the biggest waste of police resources I’ve ever witnessed, and that business lost my support, which normally is 3 fills a week!
Why the gas prices in Town are still so high compared to other areas around us? Soon we will all switch to electric cars/trucks and we shall see what will happen to the gas prices. I am wondering if the gas stations in the Town have any plans for their future business.
This place closes whenever the kid behind the counter feels like going home. One time you come here, it's open until 11pm. The next time, it's closed, locked up tight at quarter to 10. Fortunately, there are other 24-hr gas stations in Cobourg.
