My husband and I very much enjoyed our veal stroganoff with spatzl and sausage with sauerkraut meals. Tasty!
If you love schnitzel, this is THE place to get it! The portions are generous, and they have a large variety of schnitzel. There is one sure to satisfy your hunger!
Don't let appearance fool you. This little place serves up a great variety of Swiss and German specialties, along with some North American staples. The prices are not outrageous and the service; helpful and friendly.
Our first visit on Sept 15, 2018.There is a special place in our hearts for good schnitzel. I have fond memories of Salzburg, Austria heavily due to the Wiener Schnitzel. It's been a challenge in North America to find really good schnitzel (New York City, but its too far to just hop in the car for dinner). Generally we find tasteless fried and chewy stuff, some places insist it is Schnitzel. Not even close. So, with that as the background, we never ever thought we would find Schnitzel of this calibre anywhere in Ontario. Our order consisted of a Singapore Sling, Escargot, French Onion Soup, Veal Schnitzel (Classic), Pork Schnitzel (Classic) and Black Forest Cake with coffees to finish. We've been to Singapore, itself several times, and no trip is ever complete without a swing by Raffles Bar for a Singapore Sling. It's as unique as cocktails can get, and the $30 price tag proves it. So we were intrigued to see this on menu, at a mere $8.50 or so. Hmmm. Well it's not the real deal, but its close, if not a bit too sweet. Judos to the bartender for coming up with a close and cheaper alternative. I'd garner blindfolded I'd have called in a near Singapore Sling. She had the escargot, and ranked it very high, as it wasn't over cooked, and had just the right amount of garlic. The French Onion Soup was among the better I've ever had. It's very recommended. Both of us really enjoyed our Schnitzels. We had the classic versions, but will venture into some of the specialities, on our next visit to Cobourg. The Black Forest cake was a great finish to the dinner. One slice between us was plenty, as the slice is more like a wedge.Oh, and lets not forget the really nice 500ml carafe of German Riesling (Funf 5). Its being added to our own wine cellar. PERFECT for Schnitzel.5 stars out of 5, as the service was impeccable, friendly, and patient with us, since we needed a bit more time to go through the large menu of offerings.
Delicious food. Great crevice. The best schnitzel I have ever had in my life. Highly reccoment Spicy Julius.
